Nervous System

Nerve diseases can affect every part of the body. These disorders include many conditions, like senile dementia and peripheral nerve disorders. NIRM aims to:

• Isolate and examine the genetic/epigenetic programs of neuronal stem cells so as to generate patient-derived neuronal stem cells from iPS cells
• Define the molecular mechanisms and interactions between neurons and glia (Schwann cells) of the PNS, for implementation in innovative studies in repair/regeneration of the CNS (Alzheimer's Disease) and PNS (Peripheral neuropathies).
